About
Echo Pond Environmental Education Centre is the perfect destination for family reunions, retreats, artistic workshops, youth camps or simple relaxation. It is located in a tranquil, wilderness setting on the Avalon Peninsula only one and a quarter hours from the city of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.
Rentals are available to public and private groups/organizations who are committed to an environmentally responsible wilderness experience. Any revenue generated from private bookings helps support our school program.
We are open for rentals from May to November of each year.
Cost
Meals and Accommodations (per night)
Includes bed, three meals and two snacks per day
- $540 basic opening & cleaning fee + $60 per person/night
Accommodations Only (per night food not provided)
Includes bed, and access to kitchen facilities
- $330 basic opening & cleaning fee + $21 per person/night.
Group Camping Area (per night)
Includes access to A-frame cabin and outdoor classroom (both have woodstoves)
- $180 basic opening & cleaning + $5 per person/night.
Winter Rentals
The last 6 km of road to the Centre is not plowed in winter and the main buildings are not winterized and thus not available for rent in the snow season. However the Centre is a beautiful destination for winter campers. The A-frame building and outdoor classroom are available to be used as shelter for a fee of $7 per person per night. This includes dry wood for the wood stoves, use of the permanent orienteering course and an ice-auger for drilling holes in the pond for water or for ice fishing. Get in touch for more information!
