Echo Pond is a nature-based education centre in the Deer Park area, about 1.5 hours from St. John’s. We host school groups, community programs, summer camps, and weekend retreats from May to October—and we pride ourselves on serving delicious, home-cooked meals to everyone who visits.

We’re growing to offer more weekend rentals, and we’re looking for experienced Casual Kitchen Staff to join our team. This role is not on-call—you’ll be booked ahead of time for weekend rentals and will have first dibs on filling in during weekday programs if one of our regular kitchen staff is unavailable.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to supplement their income with meaningful and flexible seasonal work in a beautiful, outdoor setting.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare and serve meals in a professional kitchen designed to serve groups

  • Clean and maintain kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing

  • Follow food safety protocols

  • Prepare meals for a variety of dietary needs

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous kitchen experience is required

  • Experience with dietary accommodations (e.g., gluten-free, vegetarian, allergies) is an asset

  • Must be reliable, communicative, and comfortable working both independently and with a team

  • Must have your own transportation (carpooling may be available depending on staffing)

Schedule:

  • Primarily weekend work, with the occasional weekday shift

  • Shifts are booked in advance. First dibs on shifts if someone calls in sick.
